How to load 275 lb
A 275 lb barbell is two 45 lb plates and one 25 lb plate on each side. It sits between "two plates" and "three plates".
- Subtract the bar. 275 lb minus 45 lb is 230 lb.
- Divide by 2. Each side carries 115 lb.
- Load two 45 lb plates and one 25 lb plate on each side. Put the heaviest plate against the shoulder of the bar.
- Add a collar to each sleeve and check that both sides look the same.
Many lifters hit 275 lb on the squat or the deadlift before they bench it. It is also a common top set for the bench press among stronger lifters.
