About
Screen Size Checker is a free tool that tells you the size of your screen. It shows an estimate in inches and cm the moment the page loads. For the exact size, you match a bank card to an outline once. It also shows the width and height, the pixel density, and what your browser reports about the screen.
Who it is for
People who need the size of a laptop, monitor, phone or tablet: for a sleeve or case, a replacement screen, a resale listing, or to compare with a new monitor. Web developers use the pixel facts: screen, viewport, pixel ratio and device pixels.
How it works
A web page knows how many pixels a screen has, but not how big a pixel is. So the tool first matches your pixel count to a list of common phones, tablets, laptops and monitors. That gives an estimate at once. It marks this as Estimated. Every bank card is 85.6 mm wide. When you match the card, the tool learns how many pixels make a millimeter on your screen. From that it works out the physical size and marks it Measured.
The result is only as good as the match you make. Match carefully and use the 0.1 mm buttons. Keep the browser zoom at 100 percent. The match is saved per screen, and the online ruler on this site uses the same record.
