How to load 60 kg
A 60 kg barbell is the 20 kg bar plus 20 kg on each side. It is a typical working weight for a new lifter on the squat or the bench.
- Subtract the bar. 60 kg minus 20 kg is 40 kg.
- Divide by 2. Each side carries 20 kg.
- Load one 20 kg plate on each side. Put the heaviest plate against the shoulder of the bar.
- Add a collar to each sleeve and check that both sides look the same.
Many new lifters in kilogram gyms reach 60 kg first on the squat and the overhead press. It is also a common warm-up for stronger people.
